No-Bake Energy Bites

Why I like these:

They have only a few ingredients and all provide fuel for the body. Oats are complex carbohydrates that will provide long-lasting energy. Bananas provide carbohydates for fuel and fiber to help keep you full through a workout. Almond butter and hempseeds have protein and healthy fat that the body will also use for energy.

 

No-Bake Energy Bites

Ingredients:

1 cup of oats

1 Tbs. almond butter

1 tsp. cocoa powder

1/2 of a small banana (mashed)

1/2 Tbs. hempseeds (optional)

Steps:

1) In a medium-sized bowl, mix the first 4 ingredients together.

2) Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

3) Once the mixture is firm enough to work with, form into small balls.

4) Sprinkle hempseeds on a plate and roll the balls in the hempseeds. The hempseeds are optional and could be replaced with flaxseeds, chia seeds, chopped nuts or chopped sunflower seeds.

Eat immmediately or refrigerate for up to 1 week.
